Matthews Alive will toast the thousands of volunteers who make the Town of Matthews and the festival a caring successfully community. This year’s theme is “Volunteer Matthews.”
The Matthews Alive Festival, in its 18th year, is a 4-day family festival which takes place every year over Labor Day weekend in Downtown Matthews. This year the event kicks off Friday, September 3 and concludes on Monday, September 6.
A variety of musicians and groups will perform and are sure to please everyone’s different tastes.
Headlining the Festival Are:
Billy Scott and The Prophets, Jim Quick & Coastline, both great beach music bands; Livehouse, playing Motown favorites and Midnight Special, a classic rock band and Jim Quick & Coastline, a beach music/party band.

The festival is made up of four live music stages, a large arts and crafts area made up of over 150 regional artisans, a Family Fun Zone made up of rides, games and amusements, a Kid’s Connection with pony and train rides, a wide array of food vendors, the Southeast’s Largest Labor Day Parade, and much more!
