Reevaluation Appeal Deadline is Now Monday

DEADLINE FOR APPEALING REVALUATION
EXTENDED TO MONDAY

Charlotte, NC - Over the weekend of March 5-6, Mecklenburg County computer servers providing access to property information were out of service for an extended period. Some property owners were unable to gather information they felt was relevant in appealing their assessments as part of the January 1, 2011 revaluation.

Tax Assessor Garrett Alexander recommended to elected officials this morning that the deadline for residents to appeal their new values will be extended from March 10 to Monday, March 14. The Board concurred. That will give citizens some additional time this coming weekend to complete their research and submit appeals.

All appeals must be postmarked by Monday.
