Over the last year Christ Covenant Day School has expanded its athletic facilities at Warner Park which is adjacent to the Sardis Forest Neighborhood.
Additional ballfields and lighting were added. During this time the school was found to be in violation of the glare standard in the lighting secion of the Town's zoning ordinance. The school has cooperated with the Town and worked to solve the issue.
Town staff determined that the lights are now in compliance with the ordianance. Under the Matthews Zoning Board of Adjustment rules you have 30 days to file an appeal to the staff’s decision (September 7 by 5 p.m.).
The Matthews Zoning Board of Adjustments will hear the appeal. An application for an appeal is available on our website (Go to Town website, Planning Department, Forms, Appeal from action of zoning administrator) or can be picked up at the Matthews Planning Department.
