Join us for the “Not So Spooky” Halloween Carnival on October 29, from 11a.m. – 2 p.m., at Stumptown Park. Children under the age of 10 are invited to enjoy hay rides, spooky tattoos, a pumpkin walk, ghostly golf, food and much more.
There will be a Costume Parade – the theme for the Costume Parade is “Pirates” - so come dressed for a great time.
The Matthews Police Department will also collect unused and expired medications as part of Operation Medicine Drop. Misuse and accidental poisoning by ingesting medication are a leading cause of unintentional death for children, so proper disposal and awareness about the issue is extremely important.
Now days the most likely way a person can become a victim of a crime is through fraud and identity theft. For this reason, we have teamed up with Shred-It, a Charlotte based document destruction company, to offer a safe and secure place for people to bring records and documents that contain personal information so they can be properly disposed of without the possibility of getting into the hands of a criminal.
Halloween is the most dangerous day of the year for pedestrians. Thanks to our partners Safe Kids Charlotte Mecklenburg, we will have many items and information available for children and parents to help prevent injuries related to trick or treating.
The will be appearances by the Danger Rangers, McGruff the Crime Dog, and Blaze the Fire Dog.
Admission is free. Please no pets at this event.
