Three Officers Join Police Department

The Town of Matthews Police Department welcomes three officers to its patrol division: Steven Cohn, Jamie Garmon and Jeffery Troyer.

Steven Cohn is a native of Florida. He has an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Central Piedmont Community College and he completed his basic law enforcement training at South Piedmont Community College.

Jamie Garmon is a native of Mecklenburg County. He was working in sales when he decided he would like to pursue a career in law enforcement. He completed his basic law enforcement training at Stanley Community College and formerly worked with the Locust Police Department. Jamie and his wife, a former Mint Hill Police Officer, have two children.

Jeffrey Troyer is a native of Michigan where he graduated from Michigan State University. He formerly worked as a police officer in Charlotte for eight years before leaving law enforcement to start his own remodeling business. He and his wife, Lisa, have four children.
