The Town of Matthews will hold a community workshop for the McKee Road Extension Segment B on Thursday, December 8 beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. at the Matthews Community Center, located at 100 McDowell Street East, Matthews.
Town staff will be available in an informal setting to answer questions and receive comments about the proposed project. The opportunity to submit written comments or questions will be provided and are encouraged. Interested citizens may attend at any time during the above mentioned hours. There will not be a formal presentation.
The Town proposes to connect E. John Street to Campus Ridge Road to improve the traffic flow at the intersections of E. John Street/Old Monroe Road with Campus Ridge Road and Stallings Road/Potters Road. (Campus Ridge Road serves the Levine Campus of Central Piedmont Community College.) The proposed project would build two lanes of a future 4-lane roadway, a total distance of about 0.4 miles. It is listed as NC Department of Transportation Project U-4713B.
