The Town of Matthews Fire & EMS Department recently held its annual Fill the Boot Collection for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
Staff was joined by members of the Fire & EMS Explorer Post 911 and the Matthews CERT Team to collect funds from the public. In seven hours the department collected $6,551.84 from motorists who were traveling through Matthews at the intersection of John and Trade Streets.
“We would like to say thank you to the very generous people we met and who contributed to our MDA fund. You helped us exceed our goal and your donations are greatly appreciated,” said Fire & EMS Chief Dennis Green.
