Sand Sculptors Coming As Part of BeachFest Matthews

As part of BeachFest Matthews Sandsational Sculptors will construct a unique one-of-a-kind sand sculpture for BeachFest. This is the second year the group is bringing their talents to the festival. This group of renowned professional artists has backgrounds in industrial design, engineering, fine art, performance art and marketing. They have also competed in sand sculpting contests in Hawaii, Europe and Japan. They will begin working on the sand sculpture on Thursday, April 29 in Stumptown Park. They expect to be done on Saturday, May 1. Once completed, the artwork will remain in place (unless it rains) for up to three weeks for all to enjoy.
The Town of Matthews is bringing the beach to you and your family. The Town will host the second annual BeachFest Matthews April 30 and May 1 in downtown Matthews. The weekend will feature free beach music concerts by The Catalinas, The Tams, Band of Gold and the Legendary Drifters. Presenting Sponsor for the event is Presbyterian Hospital – Matthews.
