Matthews Fire & EMS relies on volunteers to staff our stations during the night and on weekends.  We are always looking for volunteers. 

Active volunteers are compensated for their services:

• Up to $500/month depending on certifications and years of service

• Meal reimbursement for shifts run at the station

• All training provided at no cost to the volunteer (some classes require up-front registration fees which are reimbursed upon successful completion of the class)

• Tuition reimbursement
