POLICE TELECOMMUNICATOR - Matthews, NC. Pop. 26,294+.  Receives, processes, and (data) enters all public calls for police services; radio dispatching of all police calls. Experience / Requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school; computer experience in Windows-designed products. Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, psychological and/or polygraph examination. In addition, various past criminal acts will prohibit consideration (specific Job Standards available upon request.) 12-Hour work shifts. Salary Range $30,343 – 45,514.  Benefits include health insurance paid for employee and subsidized for qualifying dependents, state retirement and town-funded 401-K, town-paid dental reimbursement program, and approved educational reimbursement.

Police Officer - Matthews, NC. Pop. 26,294+.  Performs responsible protective work involving a variety of general or support duty police assignments. Investigates criminal activities and traffic collisions. Must meet all minimum standards of the State of North Carolina Criminal Justice Standards Division (including a high school degree or approved GED).  12-hour work shifts. Salary range $33,453 - $50,180.  Benefits include health insurance paid at 100% for employee and at least 50% for qualifying dependents, town-paid dental reimbursement, approved educational reimbursement and assigned take-home vehicles to qualifying personnel.  Specific job standards available. Qualifying out-of-state transfers and non-certified applicants considered.
