James Taylor was first elected to the Town Board of Commissioners in 1999 and has continued to faithfully serve the citizens of this community. Other civic involvements include serving on the Matthews Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors, the Charlotte Regional Visitors Association and as an alternate on the Planning Liaison Board.
Commissioner Taylor grew up in Miami, Florida and graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Married for 15 years, he is the proud father of two children – a son and daughter. He is employed with Wachovia Corporation in the Management Reporting Group of the Treasury Department. His hobbies include playing with his kids, bike riding, visiting family, all kinds of sports, and working on cars.
