January 16, 2020

Chief Clark A. Pennington of the Matthews Police Department and Chief Rob Kinniburgh of the Matthews Fire Department are happy to announce the second annual “Matthews Public Safety Year-In-Review” community meetings.  There will be four individual community town hall-style meetings to cover each specific response area of Matthews referred to as “Beats" 1, 2, 3, & 4.  These meetings will be an opportunity for citizens, local businesses, students or anyone that visits Matthews to come and learn about everything public safety-related that occurred during 2019.  This review will cover such topics as Crime Stats, Fire Response Stats, Staffing, Calls for Service and much more from each agency.  Each Chief will present this information regarding his respective agency, answer any questions, listen to suggestions, as well as provide agency goals and objectives for 2020 and beyond.

Please find your area of interest on the attached map or go to the provided link or QR scan code just below the map.  Once you have located the area of interest on the map then determine which “Beat” it is located in, and lastly proceed to the provided color-coded schedule below and mark your calendar.

As Matthews continues to grow every day, we have to continue to work together as a community to ensure it remains the Matthews that we want it to be.  So, we ask that you please take this opportunity and set aside some time out of your busy schedule to join us.

For any questions regarding these meetings, please contact Officer Tim Aycock at: or 704.841.6754.
