Support Services Division

The Support Services Division supports the mission of the Police Department through many areas of responsibility. Those include such services as School Resource and DARE programs, Community Safety Programs, Animal Control Services, Fleet & Equipment Management, Citizen Volunteer Corps, the Reserve Officer Program and Off-Duty Employment coordination, On this and the associated pages you'll find more information about the twenty full-time, twelve part-time, and 21 Citizen Volunteers who provide these and a wealth of other services.

Captain TyrrellCaptain Stason Tyrrell graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He has 18 years of sworn law enforcement experience and joined the Matthew?s Police Department in 2007. He is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Executive Program through NC State University, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, as well as numerous other specialized related training. Captain Tyrrell has served in various positions in both the Patrol Division and Support Services Division, recently working as a Community Resource Officer, Public Information Officer and supervising the School Resource Officer program. As the Support Service Division Commander he oversees areas within the department such as: community safety and outreach programs, school resource, public information, operational equipment, secondary employment, property/evidence storage and animal control.
